I was saving big money for that new a/c device for a long time.
My household doesn’t have a central a/c device.
My last house had a central a/c, so I never needed to own a window a/c. When I moved into this household, I had a pretty tight budget, so I have been saving for a window a/c device ever since I moved into this household. I wanted a nicer window a/c, so I knew that it was going to take even longer to get my window a/c device. After roughly a year of saving every extra penny that I could manage, I finally had enough money for the window a/c device. I was attempting to go to the store that week, but since it was fall, I wasn’t in a hurry. In a few weeks, the window a/c devices would go on sale, in addition to I would be able to get one at a truly great price. However, I found out that one of my friends just had a major complication. They just had to have major surgery, and they didn’t have health insurance. They are trying to pay off their bill, but now, they cannot afford their rent. If they didn’t pay it after 10 days, they were going to lose their household. They also have several youngsters. Sure, I had enough money for the window a/c device, but I couldn’t let my friend become homeless. I made the choice to not purchase the window a/c device, and I offered them the money instead. The look on her face was definitely worth skipping the a/c device. I will be able to save the money again for the a/c device, but I may have never gotten that opportunity again.
