I think they should go into HVAC for a career if that is their choice!

I have been teaching English for the last fifteen years. In the last five years, I have also become the counselor for career development. Many of the juniors and seniors are questioning which direction they want to take when they graduate. I get mostly seniors coming in and many of them are really worried. There are those that know they want to go to college and they think they have a plan for their future. Then there are those that are unsure if they want to go to college, or go to some kind of career training center. Then you have those that don’t want to do anything but sit home and relax for a couple years. Those sure about college were already sending in applications. Those who wanted time off, I assured them that was okay, but to know when it was time to grow up. Those who were unsure, I wanted to help them find a path. I had a couple of young people tell me they were considering going into HVAC as a career. I counselled them on how to get into a good certification course so they could become HVAC technicians. My husband owned a local HVAC company and he hired HVAC techs that came from the local HVAC certification center. He said they were some of the best HVAC techs he had ever trained with. I gave them their options and I told my husband. He was willing to watch for these young and take them under his wing after graduation. I was a lucky woman and they were lucky HVAC technicians.
