My life has settled down a bit.
A promotion a few years ago has allowed myself and others to be at lake house a lot more. It’s a proper thing now for myself and others to come lake house from labor as well as be met with the warm HVAC comfort of home. That was not the way it was for a lot of years. Much of what my corporation does has to have an onsite project director. That was my career for over a decade. That means I lived on the road for much of that time. While I rarely really lived somewhere full time for a project, I would be on the road weekly. This meant night after night in hotels as well as dealing with the HVAC. Maybe it’s just myself and others but, I have had more problems with HVAC comfort at higher end hotels than somewhere else I’ve stayed. That seems impossible. It should be the other way around right? Well not in my case. And I assume I can speak to the HVAC concerns fairly well given all the room mornings I have accumulated over the years. It really came down to myself and others asking the lodging people to put myself and others in a more midscale hotel room. I had a corporation automobile anyway to get to the project site. So, it wasn’t love I needed to stay downtown in the cities I worked in. The midscale hotels I could count on to have wonderful HVAC. They have never let myself and others down. Plus, it was nice to have a window that would open so I could get some fresh air from time to time. Now, that I’m off the road, I still look to those hotel chains that have the reliable as well as strong HVAC units.
