Fitness is a priority in my life

Working out has always been a priority in my life.

I make a point to exercise every single day.

It isn’t always easy or convenient. I might be tired, busy or stressed but I always set aside an hour to focus on my fitness. It never fails to make me feel better. After a good workout, I am in a better mood, have more energy and am definitely more productive. It helps to get rid of headaches, soreness, stiffness and even anxiety and depression. Getting my heart pounding, getting breathless and working up a sweat releases feel-good endorphins. I also feel strong, healthy and proactive. I am proud of my determination and commitment, and it shows. As I’ve grown older, I’ve maintained the same weight. I often get mistaken for someone much younger than my age. I have no problem continuing to work and pursue my hobbies. I often tackle home improvement projects, work in my gardens and take my kayak out on the lake. I go for six-mile runs, ride my bicycle and play tennis. I have suffered no major medical issues beyond the occasional overworked muscle. I can’t remember the last time I needed to go to the doctor. I also am very careful about the type of foods I eat. I avoid alcohol, caffeine and nicotine. I drink plenty of water and get the recommended amount of sleep at night. I hope to continue to enjoy a better quality of life because of my efforts. I incorporate a thorough stretching routine into every workout, along with strength training and cardio exercises. By switching up the types of exercises, I strive to work my whole body.
