I hate handling her AC system

My brother gifted my mother his old window air conditioner once he upgraded to central AC. my mother getting that gift has been horrible for me. Since I am the closet child to my mother’s home, I get called for anything she needs. If my mother needs help with a faucet installation, an ingredient in a recipe or even just for company, I am the man for the job. So her window air conditioner is the heaviest, worst machine ever. My mother doesn’t want to keep the AC installed all year either. The place she wants to install the cooling system is up in her attic. Twice a year I carry the AC system either up or down the stairs. The attic stairs are way narrower and more shallow than a normal stair. The attic stairs also curls around and then release out onto a slanted roof. I can barely stand up straight in there. Then I need to haul a heavy cooling system down the tight stairs, around a corner, down the hallway and safely install it in her bedroom. I really would like to shove the AC out the window and let it smash in the yard. After the summer season I get to haul it back up the stairs again. I have thought that if my mother had a ductless mini split, she could leave it all year and instead heat her bedroom in the winter. It is quite expensive and requires a HVAC dealer to do the installation. It might be worth the extra money to get out of AC duties.
