I was so excited when my favorite show came to the theater in the city. I purchased tickets for opening night. I wanted to be in the front row the first night that the show opened. I bought two tickets to the show and I invited my best friend to join me for the outing. Since I paid for the ticket, she didn’t mind going with me. She loves the theater, but she works as a waitress. She doesn’t really earn a lot of money. On the night of the opening, my best friend was supposed to meet me at the theater. Instead, I received a telephone call from my frantic friend. She was very upset because the AC and her apartment stopped working. She called the building supervisor to fix the AC. The guy was still working on the problem. She apologized for the delay and she told me that she probably would not make it to the show. I was absolutely disappointed, because I knew she was going to love the play. I was also a little upset that I had a ticket that no one used. I couldn’t fault my friend for wanting to stay home to make sure the air conditioner was fixed. When I went into the theater, I quickly found my seat. A beautiful woman that I did not know sat down in the seat next to me. I didn’t tell her that the seat was taken. At intermission, we enjoyed drinks. She sat next to me the whole night and we enjoyed watching the show together. She left as soon as the third act was over. I don’t know her name, but we certainly enjoyed a really nice play together.
