I’ve recently been wondering if air purifiers really even work

I am a skeptical person by nature and I doubt most things, especially whenever someone is trying to sell me something.

I feel like most salespeople are just there to make a quick buck and they don’t really care if they lie to you or not.

That’s kind of how I was brought up and I still feel that way to a certain extent. I know that it’s a very cynical way to live, but I just can’t seem to help it most of the time. For example, last year, we ended up with a broken down heating system. It was a really old oil furnace and we knew that it was probably time to go ahead and replace the whole thing. We called up one of our local heating and cooling companies and made the appointment for them to come and install a newer, high efficiency heating system for us. While he was there doing the furnace installation, the HVAC technician kept trying to talk us into installing a whole home air purification system to go along with it. He said that he could give us a really good deal on the air purifier if we bought it along with the furnace. He also said that the air purification system would end up improving the indoor air quality in our house like we wouldn’t believe. I felt like he was pressuring me, to be honest. I mean, if the furnace unit that we were buying from him was as great as he said it was, then why would we even need an air purifier in the first place? Now I’m starting to wonder if air purifiers even work at all or if they are just something that we think works because we want to believe it!
