The Radiant Flooring Construction Was Loud

I chose the wrong time to have radiant heat installed to the floors of my home.

  • It’s not easy to get on the schedule for a radiant floor installation because it takes a lot of time and people.

There’s only so much time the contractor could designate to a radiant floor installation, which is why I waited 8 months for them. Thankfully, I was able to make a small down payment on the floors and then gradually pay them off before they were actually installed. However, when I scheduled the appointment, I had no idea that the virus was going to spread rapidly and cause a nation wide pandemic. I’d made arrangements to work at the office every day while the contractor’s were in my house installing the radiant flooring. I was going to hammer out a lot of work while they were working, and then I’d return home for dinner and sleep. I had it all planned out in my head. However, when the virus hit and forced me to work from home, things changed. I had nowhere to go during the day anymore! Instead, I had to work from my basement and listen to the construction above me for 8 hours straight. I bought myself noise canceling headphones, but even those didn’t stop the loud drilling from shaking the whole house. I’m really glad I got my radiant floors installed, but I wish I’d done it sooner so I didn’t have to be stuck at home during the construction.
