There are times to cut corners & there are times to never cut corners.
I may not be the smartest guy in the world.
But I have l acquired the hard way that you so do get what you pay for. And that’s fine. Occasionally it’s just fantastic to have something temporary & cheap. Then there are instances where only a professional should be engaged. I l acquired the hard way that you only use a certified HVAC professional when it comes to HVAC maintenance or repair. And never, under any circumstances, try to labor on the HVAC component yourself. This is not only stupid, but it will right away render the HVAC component warranty void. Thankfully, I didn’t make that large a blunder when it came to my HVAC. But, it was close. The wasn’t laboring all that well about a 5 years ago. It would cycle on but the cooling was not as intense as it should be. I ended up chatting with a friend who said that the HVAC needed a recharge & it wasn’t all that large a deal. He encouraged myself and others to use an HVAC guy that he knew. The HVAC person came out & did the recharge to the heat pump & the people I was with and I were back in the full on cooling contractor again. However, I didn’t check this guy out at all. Turns out, he was once an HVAC serviceman but hadn’t been in nearly a decade. Even though he showed up in a uniform, I should have evaluated to be sure that he was a licensed HVAC professional. Thankfully, nothing awful happened but I will actually not try to save cash care about that again. My call will only be going to the HVAC contractor that I know.
