I wanted to throw up when I saw the estimate

A couple of months ago, my wife and I bought a new house.

We knew it needed some work on the porch and the backyard, but the house had a lot of potential and character.

When we thought about buying the house, we decided to have an inspection performed on the property. Included in the inspection was notes from the HVAC contractor. Those notes stated that the HVAC unit inside of the house was in working order, but well aged. Since the heating and air conditioning system was in working order, my wife and I foolishly assumed we would have a while to save money for a new machine. Just three months after we closed on the house, we are looking at an estimate for a brand new heating & air conditioning system. I wanted to throw up when I saw the estimate. I can’t believe it costs almost $7,000 for a brand new heating and cooling unit. I could buy a lot of small cars for that price. Since my wife and I used all of our money for the down payment on the house, we have to take a loan from the bank in order to buy the new HVAC machine. I am terribly upset about the entire ordeal and some days I wish that we wouldn’t have bought this house. There are so many problems and every day I find one more thing that needs to be fixed. Today it’s the HVAC and tomorrow it will be the plumbing in the kitchen. I swear something is always breaking down.
