I figured it wasn’t an issue with the heater

I told my neighbor what I thought it was, even though she dismissed my idea

My neighbor called me a few days ago, looking for some advice! She was having some troubles with her heating unit. She told me that even though her heating plan was running it wasn’t heating her home, I knew that my friend’s house was incredibly old, but I also knew that the furnace wasn’t, so I was able to mentally cross out that idea. I was planning on seeing my neighbor in a couple of days anyway, and after that I could take a look myself, when I went over and visited my neighbor I looked over the heating equipment myself, and it looked fine. I also looked at the thermostat which also looked fine. I began to speculate that it honestly wasn’t an issue with the furnace, but most likely with the ductwork. My neighbor had lived in this house for close to 20 years, and I did remember studying that ductwork needed to be replaced eventually. I told my neighbor what I thought it was, even though she dismissed my idea. She seemed hyper focused on the heating and A/C unit, and thought that it had to be an issue with the actual heater. She called a professional heating and A/C worker out and the air conditioning worker took her time examining her house and the heating and A/C unit, but the air conditioning worker reached the same conclusion that I did, it was actually the ductwork having numerous holes in it and needing to be replaced, not the actual central furnace itself. My neighbor didn’t want to admit that I was right, but silently paid to get the ductwork replaced.
