Our first home build comes with a long term HVAC commitment

I simply can’t imagine living anywhere else but here.

And my wife is of the same mind.

We are both from the area and are actually highschool sweethearts. We like the four seasons of this region and the fact that the winter isn’t brutally cold and the summer is broiling hot requiring just tons of HVAC cooling. So, we just don’t think we’ll move away. A plus of getting married and starting a family so young is that we are in our mid forties and the kids are starting their own lives. So we upgraded the HVAC equipment in order to sell the big family home and we decided to build. This would just be a house for the two of us so we really keyed in on things in the house design that we really wanted. We sort of surprised each other with the common desire to go with a geothermal heat pump for our quality heating and air source. This was something we both came to independently. I loved the idea of greatly reduced heating and cooling costs for a long time to come. My wife was thrilled with the fact that a geo heat pump is just so sustainable and eco friendly. And it’s a commitment for sure. The initial cost outlay for the geothermal heat pump is considerably more of an investment than traditional HVAC equipment. But it will definitely be worth it. We’ll be able to enjoy this form of quality heating and air for well over 30 years. And that works out really well for us because we don’t plan on going anywhere for the duration.
