Our office is always way too cold and during the winter, sometimes it’s impossible to concentrate and get any work done. You would think that if you work in a high tech sort of building like the one that I work in, then the building maintenance crew would be able to make sure that the HVAC system runs efficiently. That’s just not the case around here though. There is always something going wrong with the heating and cooling system in this building. It’s a four story building that was just built a couple of years ago. Supposedly, we have a high efficiency, high tech heating and cooling system installed in the building. At least that’s what they told us when we first moved into this place. However, we have been here for about two years now and every time the weather gets cool outside, the heating system seems to go on the blink inside of the building. It’s almost like they plan it somehow! Every time the temperature starts falling outside, the furnace tears up. It’s like someone has some sort of sinister plan to keep us all cold all the time! Anyway, this year with all of the really cold weather that we have been having, it’s been like a virtual icebox inside of the office. We can’t stay warm in there no matter what we do, and so I have started bringing in my electric space heater to hide underneath my desk. They are going to have to do something about the indoor air quality in the office.
