Dad used to go out to visit the senior center a couple times a week.
He had lunch there plus then stuck around to play some bingo, canasta, or spades with friends. I thought it was a lovely way for him to have other people around plus to not just spend time alone at home. When dad had a stroke, he was put in the nursing home. Dad no longer drove; he was moping around the place waiting for someone to take her to the nursing home. Since Mom could only visit once a week, our sister plus I were worrying about her health. We went to visit the senior center plus asked if they gave meal delivery service. Not only did they have a meal delivery service, however they had a pick up service. They would send an automobile to her house plus pick her up. When she was ready to go home, they would take her back home. Since the senior center was less than a mile from the nursing home, they even drove her to visit our dad. My sister plus I were blissful to hear how much the senior center was able to help out. Dad could get her free rides to the senior center or to the nursing lake house whenever she wanted. When mom didn’t suppose well enough to visit with people, they would also do meal delivery service of whatever they featured that morning, for lunch. It was nice to know that the senior center wasn’t just for visits however for people delivery plus meal delivery services, also.
