I couldn't drive all the way out there for free

A customer called the repair service, because she wanted an estimate to add Central heating and cooling to her lake house.

I arranged for the customer to call a local HVAC service provider.

I was 45 minutes from that address. I knew there were a couple of local HVAC providers that could help. I gave the name of those companies to the customer. I did not have any of the phone numbers. A couple of hours later, I received a phone call from the same customer. This time she offered to pay an additional service fee for me to come to the property to give her an estimate for the new heating and cooling components. At this point, I wasn’t going to turn down the work. I didn’t know why the woman wanted me to be the person to install the Machinery, but I wasn’t going to say no when she offered to pay the extra fees. I charged the customer a flat rate fee of $50 to come to her home for the estimate. Once I arrived, the customer and I spent an hour talking about the central heating system. She was ready to get the project started and happy to hire me to do the job. If that meant paying an extra $50 every day I had to drive from the city, the woman was happy to pay the bill. We set up all of the work to be completed the following Monday and Tuesday. I had to contact another contractor to help with the sheet metal and welding, but I didn’t mind picking up the extra contract work.
