The dog nearly bit my leg

Most of the apartment communities in the city have a maintenance staff for Rector that handles all of the heating and AC problems.

Every once in a while, I respond to a call when they need help with an installation.

The maintenance supervisor called me last Friday and asked for help with an HVAC. Installation. One of his employees called into work sick and he didn’t have enough hands on deck to complete the installation and 12 other jobs on the schedule. I agreed to work on the project. I went to the address and grabbed a set of keys from the main office. I never bothered to ask the office attendant if the apartment owner had a dog. That was a huge mistake on my part. I wasn’t prepared to see a dog when I opened up the door. I didn’t announce myself or give any greeting. I was inside the apartment with the door closed when the dog lunged at me with sharp teeth showing. That dog grabbed onto the leg of my work pants. I dropped my HVAC tool bag on the floor and I quickly ran out the front door. I felt really foolish, but I couldn’t leave my tools in the apartment. I went down to the truck and contacted the maintenance supervisor. I told the guy that I was in a pickle and he came to help. The maintenance supervisor was not aware that the apartment tenant had a dog. The guy called the apartment owner and told her that she needed to come home and address the problem with the dog that was not listed on her tenant lease.
