Even if you are an HVAC technician, you don't peek in people's windows.

He went to the back and checked out the air conditioning unit then left a lot more quickly than he arrived

Last week, I was expecting to have the HVAC technician come to the house and inspect my air conditioning unit prior to the beginning of summer. In our area, you never knew if summer was going to begin in May or July. I thought I heard the HVAC service van pull up, but I didn’t see anyone get out. I waited for someone to knock on the door, but that didn’t happen either. Then, I saw someone peeking in our windows. He seemed to be jumping so he could look into every window of the house. I walked outside and asked if there was something I could help him with. He told me he wasn’t sure if anyone was home, and he was trying to see if anyone was in the house. I showed him the door, and the doorbell next to it and told him that was the normal way to find out if anyone was home. He didn’t look happy with my demonstration, but at least he apologized for not thinking of it. I was ready to call the HVAC company and report his behavior and I made him aware of it. It didn’t take long for him to be even more apologetic as he tried to explain why he didn’t think of the doorbell. I wasn’t buying any of them, and he knew it. He went to the back and checked out the air conditioning unit then left a lot more quickly than he arrived. Even though he begged me not to, I still called the HVAC company to report his behavior.
