What happens if I pass the course, but not the test?

My biggest question when I took the HVAC technician’s courses was; what happens if I pass the course, but not the test? I wanted to know if I would be able to take the test a second time, or even a third time.

My self confidence was low, and I wasn’t sure if I was worthy of becoming an HVAC technician.

I talked to my father, who owned an HVAC company and he told me I had no problem. I had been working with him for almost five years. Taking the classes and the test was only a formality. Once I passed the test and got my HVAC certification, I would be put on his insurance and able to go on jobs by myself. He assured me that I knew everything necessary to not just pass the HVAC course, but to also pass the certification test. In the meantime, he had me working with Joe, who not only was my work mentor, but my classwork mentor. He studied with me and helped me to learn the few things I was unsure of. I knew that being the only woman in the HVAC company was going to be a hurdle, but so was my surety about myself. I thanked Joe for all of his help when I got my HVAC certification. My father was quick to take me on as a full-time HVAC technician and put me out in the field with Joe as my work mentor. I may have enjoyed working with Joe more than I should have. I have had a crush on him ever since I met him.
