Because if you ever decide you want to move your electric fireplace it is going to be a real tough task! The only time you would ever want to really move your electric fireplace is if you are moving to a new home. Other than that, think clearly where you want to put your electric fireplace when you buy it. Otherwise you will be in for a major headache. I learned this when my friend wanted to move his electric fireplace to another part of his living room after having it installed and he had a tough time doing it. In the end he had to call a fireplace professional in order to even move the thing and have it reinstalled since he could not do it himself as he did originally. My friend told me all about the hassle and the high dollar it cost him just to move that electric fireplace by a true professional that could uninstall it and then reinstall it across the room! That is really ridiculous when you think about it. Paying all that money just to move an electric fireplace to another part of the same room? Insane! It taught me that if I ever do buy an electric fireplace as I am planning on eventually, to really know where I want it and never plan on trying to relocate it within the same house as long as I live here. I will for sure do that when the time comes!
