A lot of times, HVAC troubles can be chalked up to your thermostat

If you are ever having trouble with the heating and cooling system at your house, then the first thing you should do is check out your thermostat unit.

This isn’t something that I ever really thought about in the past, but then I had to learn it the hard way about a year ago.

I thought that there was a big problem with my heating and cooling system last summer and I called my local HVAC company to see if they could send an HVAC technician to do some diagnostic work on my heating and cooling system. I made an appointment with them, even though it was going to cost me quite a bit to have them do it. Well, I stayed home from work the following morning so that I could let the HVAC technician in. When he pulled up in the HVAC maintenance truck that day, I thought he would end up being there for hours. I figured that it would take a while to figure out what the problem was, and then several more hours to fix the A/C problem. I told my boss that I wouldn’t be into work until the later part of the afternoon that day. Well, you could say that I was pretty surprised when he was in my house for all of five minutes before he came and told me that he was done with the job. It turned out that the only issue with my heating and cooling system was my thermostat unit. It wasn’t even out of batteries or anything. The problem was that the thermostat system was turned off! I must have turned it off when I was cleaning and I didn’t realize it. I was so embarrassed.
