My bad habit of procrastinating could lead to HVAC issues

I am such a procrastinator when it comes to certain things.

I waited to finish large presentations for work until the night before, and when I was still in university, I waited to study and to do my homework up until the last possible hour, and even when my spouse and I were getting married, I waited until the day of the ceremony to write our vows! This terrible habit carries over to how I take care of the house, like for example, I know that I need to get our central air conditioner tuned up before we start using it in the summer.

Every single Spring when the weather starts heating up outside, I am reminded that it’s time to call our local HVAC company to make a cooling system maintenance appointment. I honestly don’t have a great excuse for putting it off at all. I should honestly just go ahead and call the HVAC company to set up the appointment, but I don’t love being tied down. I don’t want to have to wait around to meet a HVAC serviceman to let him in the house, and I honestly don’t want to have to spend money for a heating and cooling repair bill. My husband gets so mad at me for procrastinating about it, and he says that it will cost us a whole lot more if the cooling system tears up because it hasn’t been maintained properly. I know he has a point, and I’m the one who is supposed to take care of this stuff at the house because he travels so much. I assume I will just have to go ahead and make myself do it, but maybe I’ll wait until next month when the temperature is going to be higher.
