Procrastinating is only getting me in trouble

I am such a procrastinator when it comes to certain things.

I wait to finish huge presentations for work until the night before! When I was still in school, I waited to study and to do my homework up until the last possible minute! Even when my husband and I were getting married, I waited until the afternoon of the wedding to write our vows! This bad habit carries over to how I take care of our house, like for example, I know that I need to get our central air conditioning unit tuned up before we begin using it in the summer.

Every single Spring when the weather starts heating up outside, I am reminded that it’s time to call our local HVAC corporation to make an air conditioning service appointment. I really don’t have a good excuse for putting it off at all. I should really just go ahead and call the HVAC corporation to set up the appointment, however I don’t love being tied down. I don’t want to have to wait around to meet a HVAC worker, to let him in the house, and I really don’t want to have to pay for a heating and cooling service bill. My husband gets so mad at me for procrastinating about it. He says that it will cost us a whole lot more if the air conditioning really tears up because it hasn’t been inspected properly. I suppose he has a point, and I’m the one who is supposed to take care of this stuff at the house because he travels so much. I suppose I will just have to go ahead and make myself do it, but maybe I’ll wait until next month when the temperature is going to be higher.
