Usually I’m a big fan of the rain because I love the sound of it and it just makes me feel a sense of peace.
Of course when we moved to our new house, it was a little different.
First of all, I didn’t expect to have so much rain. I mean honestly it was raining just about everyday for months. This made it so I was able to discover certain flooding issues around the property that had to be taken care of. Also with all the rain, the lawn grew way too fast. I felt like I was forever mowing the lawn in between the rainstorms. Eventually I had to get a dehumidifier because it was becoming way too humid inside the house. It seemed that the A/C system was not able to keep up with everything, but the condensate pump was working at least. I ended up having an HVAC professional come out and he said we should think about getting a new HVAC system. He easily recommended a ductless mini split and said they specialize in those types of installations. He told me everything about the investment like excellent energy savings and greater comfort. He also said with a ductless mini split, it comes with washable air filters so you save a great deal of money not having to purchase costly air filters all the time. He did recommend however that we have a powerful air purification system installed. I ended up going for the ductless mini split upgrade but I couldn’t afford to get an air purification system just yet. Fortunately we already had an air purifier and just used that in different rooms. We still are getting all the rain, but at least the ductless mini split works great at removing the excess humidity!
