When my wife and I decided to remodel the master bathroom in our home, we honestly didn’t plan on getting rid of the flooring.
The tile was still in really good shape.
Of course, we changed our minds after talking to the plumbing contractor. The guy felt that our remodel would be complete with radiant heated flooring. It was extremely expensive to install the radiant heated flooring, but the plumbing company gave us a good deal on the materials and the labor. Before the plumbers installed the new vanity, toilet, and sink, they removed all of the flooring. Under the tile, they laid down radiant heated flooring strips. The radiant heated flooring strips connect to a dial on the wall that controls the amount of heat coming from the floor. After the bathroom came together, my wife and I decided to try the heated flooring for the first time. We did not know what to expect and we were pleasantly pleased with the results. As soon as we turned on the dial to start the heated flooring, I felt a small amount of warmth coming from the floor. The floor got warmer and warmer over the next 15 minutes. The plumbing company told my wife and I that radiant heated flooring is extremely energy efficient. We won’t know until the winter season when we use the flooring more frequently, but so far I am extremely happy with all of the changes in the new bathroom. The place looks terrific and we have more space for linens and cabinets.
