My dad used to service stuff around the house, even though our husband’s dad didn’t, and believe it or not, that has been a source of satisfiedion in our marriage for years now, you wouldn’t know that it would truly make all that much difference, however the way that you were raised truly comes into play when you try to build a life with someone else. I remember when I was growing up, the people I was with and I never paid for repairs. The two of us never truly had to have a repairman come out to service anything around the house. My dad was regularly fixing the A/C system, the oil furnace, the appliances, you name it. He was just truly good at stuff appreciate that and so the people I was with and I got off the hook for service costs all the time. However, our husband’s upbringing was completely different. He regularly says that he cannot remember a single time that his dad ever fixed anything around the house. He said he only remembers his dad yelling at the thermostat and kicking the oil furnace in the basement when it would not turn on. That regularly makes myself and others laugh because his dad is such a nice person. He just hates it whenever things tear up and do not do what they are supposed to do. He said he remembers how his dad used to pay a fortune for an Heating & A/C corporation to come to their condo to service their Heating & A/C system whenever it tore up. Now that we’re married, I halfway expect our husband to service our heating and cooling system for us when it goes on the blink, however he just expects to call for a service instead.
