Someone looked at the resume and found the mistakes

My brother and I own a turnkey business.

  • We offer a variety of services like apartment cleaning, painting, carpet, and tile work.

Business has been very good to us, especially since we picked up a huge commercial property. The commercial property is a 600 unit apartment building filled with elderly residents. The owner of the commercial property pays for us to clean all of the floors throughout the building. The service is performed once each month. One month we work on all of the carpets and halls and the next month we clean and wax all of the tile floors. About a month after we picked up this commercial cleaning job, we had to hire another person to work on the cleaning staff. I had a couple of resumes sitting on my desk. I planned to call the people to come into the office for an interview. One of my employees looked at the stack of applications. He noticed a couple of mistakes on the application at the top of the pile. That person was my number one prospect. That’s why his resume was on the top of the pile. He had multiple years of experience in the cleaning industry. Unfortunately, I didn’t really look carefully at the resume and I missed a couple of very important things. The name of the first company listed on the application was incorrect. The guy claimed to have worked there until 2008, but I knew for sure that business closed down in 2004. After examining the resume more closely, I decided not to call that person for an interview.
