Hiring a cleaning company after baby is born

My little girl is now nine months old.

The first few months after she was born were stressful.

My husband and I were always exhausted. We struggled to get more than a couple of hours of sleep here and there. We found it nearly impossible to keep up with regular household necessities such as grocery shopping, laundry and lawn mowing. Everything got neglected while we adjusted to our new role as parents. I was especially concerned about returning to work. While I was determined to continue with my career, I wasn’t sure how I’d manage so many responsibilities. It was a relief when we found a nanny that is just wonderful with our baby girl. However, there was still the problem of cleaning the house. My husband and I both leave the house by eight o’clock in the morning. We arrive home around six o’clock. My husband immediately starts cooking dinner. I feed and bathe the baby. We have a little over an hour to play with our little girl and then it’s time to put her to bed. By that point, we’re both ready to relax for a bit. Neither one of us has the energy to scrub the bathtub, wash the sheets or vacuum. For a few weeks, we tried to take care of all of the house cleaning on the weekends. We dreaded the weekends. We finally made the decision to hire a professional cleaning company. It’s such a relief. The cleaning crew shows up every Wednesday. They take care of all of the general weekly cleaning requirements and also target a changing list of deep cleaning jobs. Along with handling laundry, dishes, mopping, dusting and vacuuming, they wash windows, wipe down the appliances and clean under the furniture.
