I had a ton of excuses as to why I could never go to the gym

Like a lot of people, I always had an excuse ready whenever there was something I didn’t want to do.

My friend, who was always great at staying fit and healthy, was in almost every sport imaginable.

Meanwhile, I was a certified couch potato, spending several hours behind a TV screen. Wherever my friend would ask me to go on one of his exercise endeavors, I always had an excuse ready. Whether it be I had an important project to work on, or one of my kids was ill, or that I had a doctor’s appointment, there was always an excuse. My friend stayed silent for awhile, but as the years went on and my health began to get out of hand, I don’t think he could stay silent anymore. He was right for bringing up my weight, even if it hurt, I had probably gained an additional 30 pounds within the last 2 years alone. At this rate I was going to be morbidity obese. So I finally cut the excuses and decided to join him at the local gym. The gym local had a lot of cool things to offer. Things like cross fit and a yoga studio. They even had their own body wellness center, which creates handy little health plans for you, and small goals to achieve. This health and wellness center probably helped me the most, because they also created workout plans for me, as well as nutritional counseling. With my friend’s support, I was able to make the changes I needed.
